Summer Fun

These are some of the fun photos I have taken since Nathan and I returned from Baltimore. The first couple are of Nathan and our neighbor, Natalia. Those two kids get along great. There are some of us trying to stay cool outside and there are some from our visit to the Clarks.

Nathan journeys to Delaware

After we left Baltimore we headed to Delaware to spend two nights with my Mimi (my dad's mother). Shortly after we arrived and got re-acquainted we headed to a local farm. I have to chime in that it takes Nathan no time at all to get acquainted with new people. Even at parties with 15+ new people, he will just start mingling and playing immediately.
The farm we went to, Milford Farm had a place to eat lunch outside, but its main attraction was a little farm where you could see animals. We spent almost two hours there. We ate lunch, ate ice cream, played with the big tonka trucks that they keep in a giant sand box, then we checked out the animals, and strolled around their farmer's market a bit. Nathan mostly enjoyed walking away from us on the gravel road. Not sure what his deal is with roads, but he prefers walking on roads to grass. That evening we ate a spagetti casserole that my Mimi made. Nathan enjoyed it also.
The next day my dad's brothers, Rod and Pat and my cousin Kate dropped by for the day. We had a great time playing around the house. We sat around the lunch table while Nathan napped and learned all about our iphones, we took some group photos outside that came out great!, and we went out to a restaurant that night. It was lobster night at the restaurant and Nathan kept staring at the waitress wearing the lobster hat. We did get a photo of them.

The flight home was not too eventful. I did change a poopy diaper on the airplane toilet. Nathan slept for nearly an hour on my mom's lap. All in all, not too bad. It was exhausting chasing Nathan around non-baby proofed homes for 6 days, but he was such a trooper the whole time that it made it not too bad. I am definitely glad to be home now though.

Nathan's first trip to Baltimore

I told my mom at the beginning of the year that I had enough vacation to commit one week to her however she pleased. Most likely either at her house or visiting family in Baltimore and Delaware. We decided to use that time visiting family in Baltimore and Delaware. The flight went well for the most part. Andrew dropped me, Nathan with stroller, large suitcase, and carseat off at the Houston airport where I met my mother who had just flown in from Lafayette. I checked in suitcase and carseat and we headed over to security where we were ushered past the long line immediately into the area with the xray machines. That was a nice touch. So far things were looking pretty good. We made it through with little hassle and hung out near our departing flight. Nathan had lots of fun running around the airport while we were waiting. He ran into some other small children and just had a good time.
On the airplane he was a pretty good sport. There were some bouts of quick crying/complaining about his limited mobility, but it could have been much worse. He didn't sleep till about 1.5 hours into the almost 3 hour flight. He slept for about 30 minutes. One of the best things I brought for his entertainment was a singing birthday card that plays "Dayo", the old banana picking song.

We spent four nights and my mom's brother's house with his family. We had lots of visitors including my mom's cousins, her aunts, and some of her early childhood friends. We went swimming at the JCC one day. Nathan even had his first experience with geese. Here are the pictures from our visit to Baltimore:
